Runtime animation System
Video: Overview of my melee weapon impact system, a procedural animation system made in UE5 for a prototype game at Volition Games. I implemented everything using Blueprinting, AnimGraph, and Control Rig.
I was the technical animator on our 14-person team; the game was completed in 8 weeks, and this system took me 1 week total. I worked extensively with Design to iterate on the functionality and player experience of using this weapon, resulting in a powerful and gripping demolition experience. I also collaborated with Audio and VFX to coordinate the timing of the animation with the effects, to really make it sing.
I think it turned out pretty cool!
