My senior animation - space plumber mercenaries chose the wrong temple to invade, awakening Titus, an ancient alchemical automaton engineered of slate and gold.

The final product!

My pipeline.

Sculpted in ZBrush, mocapped with a Perception Neuron Pro, modeled, rigged, and animated in C4D, rendered in Unreal.

Here's the animation + procedural rig I made for Titus. The legs and torso can be driven by mocap and animated further because this rig integrates C4D's Mixamo Control Rig.

My goal with this project has been, more or less, to do everything possible to make animation easy. This has involved designing user-friendly rigs, which incorporate easily adjustable motion capture. So now, as I put on my Animator hat, I get to reap the rewards!

This is when I first got the retargeting working. Glad I was able to figure out the Mixamo Control Rig's retargeting preferences.
Below is my same setup but you can see the original mocap data on the left:

From left to right: Mocap -> Retargeter skeleton -> Control rig -> Procedural rig
